Needle in the Mind-Stack

Find It, Pull It and the Whole Pattern Unravels.

For over two decades, we've trained in a wide variety of disciplines, including psychology, neuroscience, NLP, clinical hypnotherapy, energy psychology, and behavioral transformation.

Some modalities were powerful.

Others contradicted each other.

But overall, we didn’t see the consistent, lasting transformation we were sure was possible.

Yet, hidden inside each were clues worth following deeper.

As we pieced together this puzzle, a paradigm shift, hidden in plain sight, started to emerge.

Clue #1: We react before we even know it

The Deep Mind responds first most of the time. By choosing the behavior it believes will keep you safest.

Sometimes it’s perfect. Other times… it gets in the way.

Like when you’re about to pitch your big idea, and suddenly—your heart starts pounding, you feel light headed, you can't think clearly...

That wasn’t dimming your light or playing small..

That was the Deep Mind riding the brakes to protect you.

Clue #2: The rational mind makes up the story after the fact

Then a few seconds later, the little voice kicks in: “You’re not ready yet.”

But that’s just the Rational Mind stepping in to explain it.

To justify it, analyze it.

To make logical sense of it.

That’s what affirmations, mindset hacks, and positive psychology target: the post-reaction narrative.

They give you a sense of control. And sometimes, they reach the part that pressed the brakes in the first place.

See, the Rational Mind can influence the Deep Mind over time, but it’s slow and indirect.

Think trying to “steer a cruise ship with a canoe paddle”.

Once we saw that, we asked:

How does the Deep Mind choose its response anyway?

Clue #3: The Deep Mind pattern matches based on emotion

The Deep Mind doesn’t respond logically to what’s happening to you right now—like when your heart started pounding, you felt light headed, and couldn’t think clearly…

Instead, it scans for patterns.

It compares what’s unfolding to every similar situation you’ve lived before and responds based on what "worked" before.

But here’s the problem:

Most of that “data” was logged decades ago.

Which means it can be pulling emotional instructions from a 3-year-old’s perspective to run your adult life today.

So, when you were about to pitch your big idea and panicked, it was not the reaction of an adult to potential criticism of their idea...

...but the reaction created from a 3-year-old’s perception of some “danger” it experienced in the past.

So what was really creating Miguel’s self-sabotaging procrastination?

Remember Miguel?

He came to us stuck in a cycle of procrastination. Every time he was on the brink of a new level of success, he’d unconsciously sabotage it.

What we uncovered surprised even him.

As a child, Miguel watched his father—a respected doctor—lose his ability to practice and spiral into anger and abuse, especially toward those doing well.

Miguel's young mind linked survival with staying in his father's good graces—something that would be lost if he ever "surpassed" him.

Even though the memories that created this “strategy” were buried, his Deep Mind never forgot.

So every time he got close to major success as an adult, that old wiring kicked in. Procrastination and avoidance weren’t laziness—they were protection.

And that protection was powered by something deeper…

Introducing: Your Emotional Energy Network

Your Deep Mind doesn’t store memories in isolation.

It creates networks of emotional energy: clusters of memories grouped by emotions, life context, and time. Quiet echoes of what once hurt or confused your younger self.

All your rejection experiences get linked together. So do your shame experiences. Your fears. Your grief.

Some memories live in more than one network. For example, a single rejection might carry both fear and shame.

But not all memories carry the same weight.

The most powerful are usually the earliest. Where your younger self experienced strong negative emotions but couldn't resolve the situation.

Your young mind simply did what it was designed to do:

It made a best-guess: stay invisible, people-please, play small, be perfect, never let anyone down...

...whatever behavior might help you avoid pain again. And then saved that “keystone” experience in your Network tagging it with negative emotion.

Then each time something even vaguely reminds your Deep Mind of that original experience, the cycle continues: the same behavior is deployed, and this new moment is added to the corresponding network, strengthening that limiting behavior further.

So, even though you were just a child… Even though you didn't understand the full picture... Even though it might not have worked very well…

..that stored emotional energy is now what fuels your behavioral responses in similar situations.

So where Descartes said “I think, therefore I am”, neuroscience shows that it’s actually “I feel, therefore I do”.

Now here’s the kicker:

These "keystone" memories are the emotional anchors that hold the entire network together.

When you locate and update them with your present-day wisdom… You don’t need to manually rewire every belief or thought or behavior.

The emotional charge gets released permanently, and just like pulling the thread on a knitted sweater, the entire Network unravels on its own.

When The Network Unravels, Action Becomes Easy

That’s what happened with Miguel.

Once we located the keystone memories behind his pattern and helped his Deep Mind to update this specific Emotional Energy Network, the entire behavior loop lost its reason for being..

Months later, Miguel moved to New York and into a career in the financial sector. Now he is launching a cutting-edge AI-driven marketing and sales automation product.

Before we continue…

Think back to that situation you identified earlier.

What were you feeling in that moment?

Where did you feel it in your body?

Because what if that feeling wasn’t just a passing emotion?

What if that feeling was your system’s way of asking for healing, not more effort?

What if it was a thread… leading all the way back to the keystone memories that created the entire pattern?

What if you could trace that thread to the source—and release it for good?

That’s what we do next.

And it starts with a two-step process we call the Deep Mind Recode™.

The same process Miguel, Marisa and all of our clients go through.
